Meet Remee ~

Hi, I'm Remee, owner of Eco Shaylee LLC!

Originally, the company was named 'Green Home Inspections & Remediation'. In 2010 it was re-branded as 'Eco Shaylee LLC' to reflect all the changes and improvements to the services we now offer!

*EXCITING NEWS - We are now licensed for lead testing in Minnesota!!! Additionally, Eco Shaylee LLC is a licensed Asbestos Inspector, Asbestos Supervisor and Certified Mold Inspector. Our company is also fully insured. We are also a Better Business Bureau member with an A+ Rating. Many companies cannot tout all these things! This is an important factor that sets us apart!

Our testing services include: lead, asbestos, mold, formaldehyde, VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and EMF (Electromagnetic Field) testing! See details on our 'Services' page. *PLEASE NOTE - Eco Shaylee only does testing and not remediation/mitigation/abatement (removal). This is how we can remain neutral in our testing services. Companies are allowed to do both, but you must keep in mind that if they remove the toxic materials and test for them as well, they have a vested interest in results being positive.

Eco Shaylee is a 3rd party testing company who does not take sides. We let the science speak for itself in all situations. We can perform 'Clearance Testing' after lead, asbestos or mold has been removed, or initial testing for 'bank owned' or 'flipped' homes to help buyers know what is in the house before they sign on the dotted line.

How to Pronounce our Company Name:

I hear many people mispronounce our company name. 'Eco' is pronounced: 'EEko' - a long E. Think of the phrase Eco-Friendly, or Eco-System. 'Echo', which some people inadvertently use, is a reverberation of sound, like when you yell 'hello' into a canyon from the top of the mountain and you hear your voice come back to you - 'hello hello hello'.

About Remee

As a Professional Eco Specialist and Building Biologist, Remee Shaylar is well versed in many areas of the green sector. Her training includes the International Institute for Bau-Biologie & Ecology, Asbestos Inspector, GreenStar Trained Professional (formerly the MN GreenStar program) and the MN State University Mankato’s Sustainable & Energy Efficient Building program, as well as Radon Mitigation. She also sat as a committee member on the Technical Committee of the (MN) GreenStar program.

Remee has been featured in the Parade of Homes Magazine, Builder News Magazine, Green and Save.com, The Edge newspaper, MN Women's Press, guest blogger for MommyBlogExpert and she's spoken at the nationally renowned WI MREA (Midwest Renewable Energy Assoc.) Fair in Custer, Mother Earth News Fair in KS, Coldwell Banker, Living Green Expo, Life Lines Unlimited II, Century College, Patrick Henry High School and various other groups and schools. She gives continuing education seminars and is available for speaking engagements.

Join her again this year for her annual talk at the MN State Fair: "Creating an Allergy & Toxin Free Home", on Labor Day, Monday Sept. 2nd @ a time TBD on the Sustainability Stage in the Eco Experience Progress Center at the top of old Machinery Hill!

How she got here

A number of years ago, Remee found herself being more and more sensitive to the environment. After much research, and no help from conventional doctors, she realized she had Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, or MCS. Now she could find an answer.

After being downsized from a mundane job one day, she knew this was her chance to find her passion and make a living at it. That's when she learned about Building Biology and it's focus on health through the 'built environment'. This tied into her quest to be healthy, help other people, and the environment too. Green Home Inspections & Remediation was born in the spring of 2005. In early 2010, the company re-branded as Eco Shaylee LLC, to reflect her expanded services and evolution in the green market place.

Today, we are happy to report that Remee enjoys good health again. This experience has made her very empathetic and effective at what she does.
